The turbocharger compresses the incoming air -- and heats it in the process.
To improve efficiency and allow higher boost, Mike built an icewater-to-air intercooler for the bike.

Here Mike is filling what used to be the gas tank with about 15 pounds of ice --
all of which will be melted by the end of the three-mile run.
